Service-Focused Websites

What does your current site say about your agency? Are you service-focused or agency-focused? Local government can’t afford to be the latter in a world where trust is declining each year.

I recently had the privilege of hearing John Profitt speak about his website redesign project and the Granicus Government Experience Cloud. It’s refreshing and inspiring to hear city/county leadership recognize the power behind their digital front door. If your organization is looking at ways to improve online services and/or a website redesign, feedback from the community can be a valuable driver. Other agencies such as Ulster County, NY recently announced they are also moving to the Granicus platform and asking residents to help, stating, “Collecting valuable community input is vital to creating a website that is accessible, easy to navigate, and truly serves everyone in Ulster County.

The City of Pittsburgh recently awarded an RFP to Granicus. The focus of the project centers around city services, citizen engagement, and improved usability. Allowing the community to share how they use the city’s site and understand current phases of the project, will lead to a more connected community built around trust and transparency.
